America’s Got Talent

America’s Got Talent (commonly known as AGT) is a televised American talent show competition that is part of Simon Cowell’s global Got Talent franchise. The show is produced by Fremantle USA and Syco Entertainment, distributed by the former, and broadcast on the NBC television network. 

The show attracts a diverse range of contestants from across the United States and internationally who have some type of skill, with acts ranging from singing, dancing, comedy, magic, stunts, variety, and other genres. Each auditionee aims to secure a spot in the live episodes of a season by impressing a panel of judges, which currently includes Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara. Those who advance to the live episodes battle for both the judges’ and the public’s votes in order to advance to the get to the final, where the winner receives a big monetary reward.

The show has aired for a total of fifteen seasons and has inspired two spin-off competitions: America’s Got Talent: The Champions, which debuted in January 2019, and the planned series AGT: Extreme, which will debut in summer 2021.
